When I sit down to work each morning I close my eyes and offer up a quiet gratitude to my amazing clients for their support of my work.* Because of each of you I’m able to document weddings bejeweled with tender moments. Because of each of you I’m so lucky as to witness the laughter of families in their homes or their favorite places. Because of you I’m creating beautiful branding image content for businesses built on vision. Thank you. And for those clients who have returned to me again and again ‘Thank You’ really feels insufficient - I’m beyond grateful to have witnessed you and your loved ones evolve together over the years.
*I also have a daily practice with my photography which was inspired by one of my favorite authors, Barbara Kingsolver. In the essay “Marking a Passage,” within her collection of essays Small Wonders, crafted in the wake of September 11th, Barbara writes, “Each day as I sit down to work on writing a book, I begin by laying my hands gently across my keyboard and offering up my silent thanks to readers, to the people who publish books, and to the people who sell them—the people without whom I would not get to do what I do.”

Through Autumn’s Lens says it all! As someone loath to be photographed, my business required that I have a headshot and photographs with dogs. I wasn’t sure what would be harder to capture, the moving animals, or my reluctant, awkward self. What a treasure to find Autumn who was grounded, had a sound vision for how to capture the essence of my work and my authentic self, and who put me at ease in a way that is hard to describe, but I imagine is essential for amazing photography. Autumn immediately was able to capture me though a unique lens that allowed me to be myself. We had a good laugh as I approached the unveiling of the photos with trepidation, only to find that her lens captured the magic of my work with dogs, the genuineness of my heart, and the beautiful City of Petaluma! We had Autumn do our family photos and were beyond happy with the final images.
